This 18-hour overnight excursion from Sharm El Sheikh offers a profound blend of adventure, history, and spirituality. The journey takes you into the heart of the Sinai Peninsula to visit two of its most sacred landmarks.
In the evening, around 20:00, you will be transferred by an air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh to begin your unforgettable journey to Mount Sinai and St. Catherine’s Monastery, the sacred place where Prophet Moses received the Ten Commandments.
Upon arrival at the base of the mountain, you will be accompanied by a local Bedouin guide alongside your Egyptian tour guide.
Around 02:00 AM, you will begin the ascent of Mount Moses, climbing approximately 2,285 meters via about 750 steps, walking through the quiet desert night.
The climb takes around 2–3 hours, depending on the group’s pace.
If you feel unable to complete the full climb on foot, camel rides are available up to the final 700 steps.
At the summit, you will have time to rest and enjoy the breathtaking sunrise, offering panoramic views over the Sinai mountains—an unforgettable spiritual and natural experience.
At approximately 07:00 AM, you will descend the mountain and proceed to visit St. Catherine’s Monastery, one of the oldest functioning Christian monasteries in the world.
The monastery was built by Emperor Justinian I and is dedicated to Saint Catherine, who was persecuted for her faith in Egypt. Within the monastery complex, you will also see the famous Burning Bush, believed to be a descendant of the original bush mentioned in the Bible.
After the visit, you will drive back to Sharm El Sheikh, arriving at your hotel around 13:30 – 14:00.
